B1: Register for quarantine with the Department of Veterinary Medicine

Before importing goods, the goods owner needs to submit a set of quarantine registration documents to the Department of Animal Health.

-For aquatic products, registration documents include:

+Request document for quarantine instructions

+ Copy of the export quarantine certificate form of the exporting country

+Copy of CITES License (if necessary)

+Copy of Seafood import license from the Directorate of Fisheries (if necessary)

-For terrestrial animals, registration documents include:

+Request document for quarantine instructions

+Import license (if necessary)

B2: Declare quarantine with the border quarantine agency

After being approved by the Department of Animal Health, the goods owner can make a quarantine declaration file with the border animal quarantine agency.

Animal quarantine declaration dossier includes:

+ Registration information (according to form)

+Commercial invoice

+ Bill of lading

+ Original quarantine certificate of the exporting country

+ Certificate of warehouse owner meeting food safety conditions

In case of importing animal or aquatic products not for use as food or breeding but as raw materials for animal feed production, the application also requires a license from a specialized agency.

Then, the application will be declared online on the National Single Window Information Portal.

B3: Take samples for quarantine and customs clearance of goods

After the application is approved, the goods owner goes to the port to carry out quarantine sample collection procedures. You can also transmit the customs declaration so that if the red channel requires inspection, it can be done at the same time as taking quarantine samples to save time.

After quarantine officers take samples, the results usually take about 3-4 days. At that time, you submit the results along with customs documents to continue customs clearance procedures for the shipment.
